This is a great warm up exercise for anyone that’s into playing pop punk, emo, or really any kind of rock music. It’s especially good for beginning guitar players as it gets you used to switching between quarter, 8th, and 16th note strums without changing tempo.

I’ve been in a room with so many guitar players who try to play all kinds of crazy stuff, but can’t lock in at tempo without speeding up or slowing down. Doing this daily with a drum loop can help fix that problem.

Also, if you’re into 2000’s Pop Punk, please check out our music on Spotify at the link below, and subscribe for a mix of entertaining, educational, and sometimes just plain dumb content.
